Winchester meet, Swimathon, Odd Age Invitational, a little admin
July 9th
Hi Barracudas,
The season is moving fast and furious and we are in the thick of it! Please see the updates below and note the quick response time needed. Apologies for that, but that’s the way summer swim moves!
- The Odd Age Meet is next Saturday. Entries are due to the meet host Monday, so please sign your swimmers up by Monday at noon. In this meet, they adjust the age groups so that swimmers whose ages are odd numbers are at the top of their age group, giving them an advantage they don’t have in all the other meets this year. You can see more details and see the meet poster on our Swim Meets page.
- We have an away meet on Tuesday at Winchester. Again, details are on the Swim Meets page. This pool is in Philadelphia, so leave 10-15 minutes extra time for traffic. (A lot of us learned that the lard way last week driving to LMT.) Please sign your swimmer in or out by Monday. (We realized it’s so much easier for the coaches when everyone signs in OR out, so thank you for doing that!) Please also consider signing up for a job at the meet.
- Our biggest fundraiser, the Swimathon, is Wednesday and Thursday! Your swimmer should have received a pledge envelope and goal sheet. The kids’ sense of accomplishment at meeting their lap goal is even bigger than the $$ we earn. Please rsvp to the day corresponding with your last name: Swimathon! Day 1 A – L or Swimathon! Day 2 M – Z. Also, we need parent volunteers to count laps for our swimmers. Please sign up using the Job Signup buttons (Day 1 A-L or Day 2 M-Z).
- I’m going to place another shirt order on Monday. If you would like additional shirts, lmk this weekend.
- If you owe the team any $$, please give Kristin a check asap. I need to receive some payments for registration, the Cold Water Classic, and the Pentathlon. (I did set up online payment for the Pentathlon…if people would like this option I’ll do it for the invitationals too.) Thank you!
As always, let us know if you have any questions! Good luck to swimmers at the Pentathlon this weekend, and hope everyone has a great week!
